Information for Prospective
Carterton Farmer’s Market Vendors
We are delighted that you are considering joining the Carterton Farmer’s Market. Without you there would be no market!
Markets are brilliant because they showcase the awesome variety of locally grown food in the Wairarapa, they allow you to sell directly to the public, they give you the opportunity to expose your products to a variety of customers, they give you the opportunity to interact directly with your consumers, they increase your visibility to consumers, they help bridge the rural/urban divide, they support local businesses, they support small growers and producers, they provide an alternative to supermarket monoliths and they are a lot of fun!
Sundays from 9am
Our market is to be held every Sunday between 9am and 1230 pm, right next to Memorial Square on the roundabout in summer, and out of our fabulous shop 25 High Street (next to Mirabelle) in June, July and August.
Vendors must be set up before 9am on Sunday morning and must stay till the 1230 pm closing time.
Stall Costs & Stallholder Considerations
View the Stallholder Options
Cost will be $10 per market for 'cornerstone' weekly vendors and $20 for casual sellers in summer, a $15 for regular and $25 for casual stalls in winter. Winter places are limited so contact us early to guarantee a space. Fundraising stallholders raising money for charities will only be $10 per market. If you are interested in getting the discounted $10 rate, contact us and we will get you registered. We prefer quarterly internet banking payments for this.
APPLICATIONS MUST BE IN BY THE THURSDAY MIDDAY BEFORE THE MARKET.
Stalls may be shared between producers as long as the market organisers are informed.
Only vendors who are members of the market and have paid for a stall are allowed to sell at the market.
Stallholders are expected to have appropriate insurance and must abide by local and national regulations relating to their product. If you are stating that your product is organic, it is your responsibility to ensure that you meet the requirements necessary to state this.
